By providing a platform for these stories, we ensure that the world sees the true essence of who we are.

Art and Culture in Orange Mound:Art is a fundamental aspect of Black culture, and Orange Mound is no exception. From visual arts to music and dance, Black artists have consistently shaped and influenced global art scenes. At OMNN, we highlight the works of local Black artists and musicians, celebrating their creativity and contributions. This includes showcasing traditional African art forms, contemporary visual arts, and the rich musical heritage that includes genres like jazz, blues, gospel, and hip-hop.

History and Heritage:Understanding our history is vital for empowering our future. Anthony Amp Elmore has dedicated his life to chronicling the Black Memphis history and promoting African heritage through his work. OMNN serves as a digital archive that documents significant historical events, figures, and movements that have shaped our community. By educating our audience about our past, we inspire pride and resilience in our cultural identity.

Content Creation: Sharing Untold Stories:One of the core functions of OMNN is content creation. We produce and share stories that otherwise might go untold. This includes personal narratives, historical accounts, and cultural insights that reflect the diversity and richness of Black culture. Our content aims to educate, entertain, and inspire, providing a counter-narrative to the often negative portrayal of Black communities in mainstream media.

Countering Negative Narratives:Orange Mound has historically been portrayed in a negative light, contributing to a decline in property values and a skewed perception of the community. OMNN is committed to countering these negative stories by highlighting the positive aspects of Orange Mound, showcasing its vibrant culture, strong community ties, and significant contributions to Black history.
